Gent

The three of us (without Monique as the usual tour guide) visited Gent.  Interesting to see all the bikes at the train station.  We did a canal boat ride and toured Gravensteen Castle.

Vlierbeek

A relaxing, "non-travel" day.  Henry and I found a playground in Leuven that has the exact same swings as Sawyer Park in NH.  Then we cycled to the Vlierbeek abbey to have lunch with our friends.  Henry made his first Flemish friend, Arno, the son of Stefan and Carla.

Diest

Diest, another lovely medieval Flemish town.  A long day and a tired Henry on the train home.

Another Day in Leuven

Another day in Leuven.  More cycling, more tea and beer, more abbeys, and a shot of Overwinningstraat.  Also, it was July 04, but I don't think we even realized it.

Bruges

Bruges.  One of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Brussels

Henry and I took a trip just the two of us to Brussels.  Henry standing on the Grand Place and us having a nice pizza lunch in a cafe near the Grand Place.  The bottom two photos I took that morning at the abbey just a few blocks from Monique's!

The Art of Tea

Henry's new hobby.  The fancy tray with cookies you get when you order coffee or tea in Europe.  Henry became a connoisseur of tea on this trip.  (Oh, and an obligatory shot of beautiful Leuven, around the corner from where we were having tea).
