Henry on the Beach

 

A local beach in Ponce called La Guancha.  Henry loved Ponce so much he said wants to go to college in Puerto Rico.  He said the same thing when we were in Montreal in 2017.  :)

Bad Kitties!

 

The best part of our house in Ponce was Mai and Tai, two little rambunctious kitties.  They followed us everywhere.  We miss them!

Waterfalls at Soplaera

 

Up in the hills above our house, and above a mountain village called Peñuelas is waterfall tucked away in the jungle.  

San Juan

 

Visiting the famous Spanish fort at Old San Juan.  We ate a lot of plantains and Liane took a picture of that truck loaded up with them, classic Puerto Rico in that shot.

Earthquake

 

Ponce gets a lot of earthquakes.  We got a big one on our second morning.  3.4 on the Richter scale is not huge but the epicenter was 1 mile off shore, directly in front of our house!  It sounded like two explosions with two big shakes of the house.  Woke us all up!

Puerto Rico

 

We stayed at the loveliest place.  A spanish villa on a cliff overlooking the sea, just outside of Ponce in a village called Tallaboa.

Grandparents visit to NC

 

Connie and John visited briefly in March.  Henry is always thoughtful - we went to a NC State girls basketball game in Greensboro and Henry held Memere's hand walking into the arena because he "was afraid she might fall".

Christmas 2021

 

Christmas 2021.  The first shot was an early Xmas in Pittsboro.  Then Rhode Island.  The last photo is me and the sweet boy Bubba.  Bubba pass over the rainbow bridge a few months later.
