CSSE Field Trip

 

They celebrated the first week of school at Henry's new school (Chatham School of Science and Engineering) with a field trip.  They did a ropes course at Triangle Training Center right down the road from our house.  He wasn't thrilled with going up into the trees.

I can't believe I just typed "First Day of High School".  Gulp.  There are only three more pictures for this series to be done.

Henry got to see Amanda.  Who are those two big kids on the scooters?  This sure isn't 2014.

Saying goodbye to the old house (Bedford NH)

When Liane and Henry arrived for their traditional summer New England trip Connie and John had already moved to their new house.  The old house was briefly still vacant and Henry really wanted to say goodbye in person.  He spent a lot of time there growing up.

No Rest For The Weary

 

8th grade ended on June 8.  Summer school for Henry's new high school started on June 14.  First day of high school, a remote-learning earth science class.

Nana & Pop Pop's 2022

 

June 2022 trip to Lakewood.  Henry was up since 3:30 AM for our early flight.  Passed out on the couch at Nana & Pop Pop's.  

Honor Student

In Middle School (2019-2022, sixth-eighth grade) Henry got all A's.  That is 3 years x 4 quarters/yr x 6 classes per quarter = 72 STRAIGHT As!!!

Last Day of Grade School!

 

Henry's last day of 8th grade and last day of grade school!  Look closely in the top pic (maroon shirt, mask) to see him getting an award for straight As.  And the last bus of the year.  

8th Grade Farewell Dance

 

It was extremely hot but Henry said he actually danced, and he and his friends "had a blast" (his words!).  A nice farewell to 3 years of Middle School, half of which was spent at home due to COVID.

Henry on the Beach

 

A local beach in Ponce called La Guancha.  Henry loved Ponce so much he said wants to go to college in Puerto Rico.  He said the same thing when we were in Montreal in 2017.  :)

Bad Kitties!

 

The best part of our house in Ponce was Mai and Tai, two little rambunctious kitties.  They followed us everywhere.  We miss them!

Waterfalls at Soplaera

 

Up in the hills above our house, and above a mountain village called Peñuelas is waterfall tucked away in the jungle.
